Pitch Night: Seeking South West Sydney's next entrepreneurs
UNSW
- UNSW Sydney leads community event showcasing the region’s startup talent
- Prize money and industry support on offer to turn ideas into real-world impact
- Experts and community leaders to join live judging panel
Western Sydney is one of Australia’s most vibrant, fast-growing regions, but local innovators are still underrepresented in the startup space.
In response, UNSW Sydney, in collaboration with UNSW Founders, the NSW Government, Investment NSW and Liverpool Innovation Precinct, is hosting Pitch Night South West next week (Thur 14 August).
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, 2025 will be bigger and better, with an expanded prize pool, larger venue and even more inspiring founders ready to take the stage and transform their innovative ideas into impact.
NSW Minister for Industry and Trade Anoulack Chanthivong and Liverpool MP Charishma Kaliyanda will attend event at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, alongside the distinguished judging panel:
- Professor Attila Brungs, Vice-Chancellor and President at UNSW Sydney
- Ken Morrison, CEO, Bradfield Development Authority
- Professor Josephine Chow, Deputy Director Research, South West Sydney Local Health District
- Katrina Konstas, Executive Vice President & APAC Country Manager at Afterpay
Last year’s winner was My Special Needs Dental Home, a personalised dental care app for people with disabilities founded by Zanab Malik.
The community, family-friendly event will bring together innovators, business leaders and community members, with a diverse selection of food from local vendors.
UNSW Founders has supported more than 950 founders in South West Sydney, with 80% of participants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
