New high-profile clients join Powerhouse in its first months

Founded by LJ Loch, Gaynor Reid and Chris Waite in February, the specialist luxury travel, tourism, hospitality and property agency has welcomed a run of high-profile clients in to the Powerhouse family in its first few months, including: Mulpha Group - covering Development & Real Estate, Sanctuary Cove Marina & Retail as well as the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show,  Hunter Valley Operations (including Bimbadgen Estate, Palmers Lane, and The Lane Retreat); Brady Hotels; Plaza Premium Group; The Ascott Limited / Quest Apartment Hotels, and Scenic Group.

Powerhouse has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saigontourist in Vietnam, in partnership with Australia Vietnam Tourism Promotion (AVTIP).

The growth follows Powerhouse being jointly named Best Marketing and PR Agency in the Spice 100 Awards 2026.

Anthony Dennis appointed Senior Counsel

Dennis brings the perspective of a journalist who has helped shape how Australians see and experience Australia and the world. The former travel editor of The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, a role in which he served for a record nearly decade-and-a-half, and founding editor of the Australian edition of Travel + Leisure, he has spent more than 25 years at the forefront of travel and tourism journalism and publishing,

His coverage of the tourism industry extends to the years before and during the Sydney Olympics, writing on the tourism, image and media impact of the Games.

As Senior Counsel, he will advise Powerhouse and its clients on engaging with media, drawing on his extensive editorial experience and understanding of the travel and tourism sector and, crucially, what makes a story matter in 2026 and beyond.

His role spans a new media-insider strand within Powerhouse’s crisis and media training practice, editorial input into Powerhouse Intelligence, the agency’s sector insights product in development, and a sounding board role on live client media strategy.

“Anthony brings an exceptional understanding of travel and tourism journalism and the stories that earn an audience’s attention as well as an awareness of the issues confronting the travel and tourism industries,” said Gaynor Reid, Director & Chief Relationship Officer at Powerhouse Communications. “His counsel will be invaluable as we help clients find their footing in a media world which is undergoing a series of unprecedented change and challenges.”

Four respected consultants join the Powerhouse Amplifiers network

To support its growth, Powerhouse has expanded its bench of consultants, with Cynthia Dammerer, Natalie Brown, Nicole Ford and Ginni Post joining its ‘Powerhouse Amplifiers’ network, bringing further depth to an agency built around direct access to experienced people.

The Powerhouse Amplifiers network gives clients access to accomplished specialists matched to each brief. For its members, it offers the chance to work on ambitious projects alongside experienced peers, with the independence and flexibility they value.

Dammerer brings extensive experience across travel, aviation, tourism and lifestyle communications in Asia Pacific. She has worked with brands including Accor, Scoot, W Hotels, Airalo and AirAsia, and is known for her strong media relationships, creative thinking and ability to connect brands, destinations and storytellers.

Brown brings more than 20 years’ experience in tourism PR, destination marketing and communications across Australia, New Zealand and international markets. Her career includes senior roles with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, GTI Tourism and Hills Balfour, with expertise spanning PR strategy, media relations, influencer engagement and broadcast.

Ford brings more than 20 years’ experience in strategic PR, communications and marketing for premium hospitality and lifestyle brands. Her career spans Australia and Asia-Pacific, including senior roles with Salter Brothers Hospitality, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Four Seasons and Accor, with expertise in luxury hotel openings and consumer media-led storytelling across experiential travel, culinary and wellness.

Post brings more than 20 years’ experience in agency and in-house communications across the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Based in New Zealand, she is highly connected and respected across the country’s media and hotel industries, and has represented leading brands including Accor, EVT, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels and Pro-invest Group.

“There is so much experience in this industry, and a real appetite to put it to work in a more flexible way,” Reid said. “Amplifiers gives talented people the freedom to do work they love, with people they respect. Our clients get a senior team built around what they need.”

An invitation to experienced talent

Powerhouse is inviting expressions of interest from experienced communications practitioners, publicists, strategists and content specialists across travel, tourism, hospitality, luxury, aviation, cruise, property, food and wine, and lifestyle.

“If you know your craft, have great relationships and still love the thrill of landing a brilliant story or creating a standout campaign, we’d love to hear from you,” Reid said.
