QUEENSLAND HAS ACTED! NOW VICTORIA MUST FOLLOW TO PROTECT ITS CHILDREN
Family First Legislative Council candidates are demanding the Victorian Government disclose its involvement with ACON’s Pride in Diversity program and end any comparable ideological programs operating within Victoria’s education system.
Queensland’s Department of Education has commenced the process of ending its membership of ACON’s Pride in Diversity program following a review of its external memberships.
The Queensland Department had reportedly been a member since 2018.
QUEENSLAND HAS ACTED. NOW VICTORIA MUST ACT.
We are demanding that Victorian Education Minister Gabrielle Williams MP immediately provide Victorian parents and taxpayers with full transparency.
Minister Williams, answer these questions:
👉 Is the Victorian Department of Education currently a member of, funding, partnering with or participating in ACON’s Pride in Diversity program?
👉 Is the Department involved with any comparable external organisations, programs or training providers dealing with gender, sexuality or identity?
👉 How much Victorian taxpayers’ money is being spent on these memberships, programs, consultants, training and associated activities?
👉 What access or influence do these external organisations have over departmental policies, staff training, school programs or material affecting Victorian students?
👉 Which organisations currently have agreements, memberships or partnerships with the Department?
And if Victoria has arrangements comparable to those now being reconsidered in Queensland, we demand that the Victorian Government review them immediately and end those involving ideological advocacy in our education system.
We are also demanding that Victoria’s Shadow Minister for Education and the Liberal-National Opposition publicly state where they stand.
Will they demand full disclosure from the Allan Labor Government?
And will they commit to reviewing and ending comparable arrangements if they form government?
OUR CHILDREN DESERVE EDUCATION — NOT IDEOLOGY.
Victorian schools should concentrate on giving our children an outstanding education:
Reading. Writing. Mathematics. Science. History. Discipline. Responsibility. Preparation for life.
Parents have every right to know who is influencing their children’s education and where their taxes are going.
This isn’t about denying anyone dignity or protection from discrimination.
It is about drawing a clear line between legitimate workplace protections and external ideological advocacy within our education system.
Queensland has reviewed its position.
VICTORIA MUST NOW DO THE SAME.
Minister Williams, disclose the arrangements.
Disclose the organisations.
Disclose the expenditure.
Disclose their involvement in our schools.
And where ideological advocacy has entered our education system through taxpayer-funded external programs — END IT.
Family First believes parents have the primary responsibility for the upbringing of their children.
