Brisbane, QLD  - Award-winning photographer Julian Kingma will premiere his deeply moving exhibition The Power of Choice in Queensland this April, presented by Go Gentle Australia.

Opening on Wednesday 8 April at the Brisbane Powerhouse, the exhibition offers an intimate and thought-provoking look at voluntary assisted dying (VAD) through a series of powerful portraits and personal stories.

The Power of Choice invites audiences to consider one of life’s most profound questions: what makes a good death?

Through Kingma’s lens, the exhibition humanises Australia’s VAD laws by sharing the experiences of individuals who have chosen this path, as well as the loved ones and carers who support them. Each story reflects themes of dignity, autonomy and compassion, encouraging open dialogue and helping to challenge stigma surrounding end-of-life choices.

Originally developed as a storytelling project, The Power of Choice has evolved into a Walkley Award-winning book, now brought to life as a compelling visual exhibition.

The exhibition will run for 12 days, from Wednesday 8 April to Sunday 19 April, and will be open to the public during gallery hours at Brisbane Powerhouse’s Fairfax Studio.

Go Gentle Australia is also calling for expressions of interest from regional Queensland communities, with hopes to bring the exhibition to areas including Far North Queensland in the future.
