Why not do something that’s good for both you and the environment this April? Bring your bottles, cans, and cartons down to the Return and Earn machine at IGA Temora and get 10c back for every eligible drink container you return while helping to reduce local waste.

"Whether you’re saving for something special or supporting a cause close to your heart, recycling through Return and Earn is an easy way to contribute to the Temora community and help the environment while earning extra cash before your weekly shop," said James Dorney, CEO of TOMRA Cleanaway, network operator for Return and Earn.

More than 13 billion drink containers have been returned for recycling through the network of over 660 return points across NSW since Return and Earn began, resulting in over $1.3 billion in container refunds back in people’s pockets.   

“Temora Shire Council residents are enthusiastic recyclers, having returned more than 23 million eligible bottles, cans and cartons through local return points since the scheme began,” said Mr. Dorney. 

The IGA Temora Return and Earn machine is located in the car park near the loading dock on the corner of Victoria Street and Baker Street, Temora. It is open from 7.00am to 10.00pm daily,

Users of the machine can print a voucher for the refund amount, which can be redeemed for cash or purchases at IGA Temora, or they can opt for payment directly into their bank or PayPal account using the Return and Earn app. 

Locals can also donate their refund to one of over 300 donation partners listed on the Return and Earn app. There are a variety of fantastic organisations supporting the Temora community including Little Wings who provide air and land transport to seriously ill children and their families to access life saving medical treatment and Vinnies, whose services provide a range of support for people experiencing disadvantage. 

Alternatively, you can donate to the current statewide donation partner Foodbank NSW & ACT. Foodbank is a food relief charity providing much needed assistance to individuals and families across NSW and the ACT. Donating just 5 containers creates 1 meal for Foodbank.

Return and Earn has become a key fundraising channel for many charities and community groups in NSW. Over $72 million has been raised from donations and fees from hosting return points since the scheme launched in 2017.
