Australia’s fastest growing destination for performance, classic and collectible cars, Retro Rides, has delivered a strong debut for its newly launched RRAuctions platform with its February auction attracting global attention, record breaking results and more than 1,000 registered bidders worldwide.

Following the official launch of RRAuctions (https://rrauctions.com.au/ ) earlier this year, the platform has quickly confirmed its position as a credible and trusted marketplace for high-end collectible vehicles, bringing together enthusiasts, collectors and investors through curated listings and compelling storytelling.

The inaugural auction generated significant interest both locally and internationally with bidders participating from the USA, Spain, the UK and the UAE, highlighting the global appetite for Australian-based collector cars and the growing reach of the Retro Rides Platform.

Headlining the February auction was an iconic 1990 Ferrari F40, widely regarded as one of the most desirable supercars ever built. The F40 achieved a top bid of $3.4million during the auction before ultimately selling post-auction for an undisclosed sum, reinforcing its blue-chip investment status and market appeal.

Other standout results from the February auction included:

  • A rare 1997 Dodge Viper GTS selling for $145,000
  • An XY GT Falcon achieving $130,500, well above reserve
  • A Porsche 911 (993) Carrera 2 in Midnight Blue selling for $126,000, reflecting the strong demand for Air Cooled Porsches
  • An immaculate MGA EX 182 Tribute reaching $60,000, marking another record for a Tribute vehicle.

These results underline the strength of the collector car market across multiple segments, from Australian muscle and European classics to modern performance icons, and highlight the effectiveness of the RRAuctions model in connecting serious buyers with quality vehicles.

Retro Rides Founder, Cameron Jurd said the results exceeded expectations and validated the platform’s positioning within the market.

“The response to our inaugural auction has been incredible. Not only did we see strong pricing across a diverse range of vehicles, but the level of engagement from both Australian and international bidders confirms that Retro Rides is resonating with a global audience,” Jurd said.

“Retro Rides is about more than just listing cars, it’s about telling their stories and creating a trusted environment for enthusiasts to buy and sell with confidence. The success of our first auction is a clear reflection of that approach.”

Building on this momentum, the March RRAuction is now live and is already shaping up to be another standout, featuring an exceptional catalogue of rare, collectible and high-performance vehicles.

Highlights from the March auction include:

  • An ultra-rare matching numbers Holden XU-1 Torana
  • A 2005 Mercedes Benz SLR Mclaren with just 7,200 miles
  • A 1971 Mercedes Benz 600 “Grosser,” an icon of luxury motoring
  • A 2025 Audi RS6 Avant GT, one of only 20 delivered in Australia
  • An incredible 1968 Holden Monaro Resto Mod in pro-touring specification, featuring a supercharged LS1 producing 412kW
  • A 2020 McLaren GT, representing the brand’s ultimate grand touring performance
  • A 1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione, a rally-bred legend and a superb drive
  • A 1928 WO Bentley 4.5lt, a well-known Australian car with significant history, presented in replica Vanden Pas coachwork.

Jurd said the strength and diversity of the March catalogue reflects the continued growth and maturity of the collector car market in Australia.

“Our March auction results continue to demonstrate the remarkable resilience and passion within the Australian collector car market. We are seeing sustained high demand across diverse categories, from heritage pre-war vehicles to modern performance icons, which underscores the growing confidence of our community,” he said.

“This momentum positions us perfectly for another strong month as we continue to connect enthusiasts with exceptional vehicles.”

The continued success of RRAuctions also reflects the broader trend of collector cars increasingly recognised as alternative investment assets. From appreciating classics to limited production supercars, these vehicles offer both emotional appeal and long-term value potential, in some cases outperforming traditional asset classes such as property and shares.

RRAuctions will run on a monthly cycle with bidding opening mid-month and closing on the last Wednesday of each month.

With the March auction now live, enthusiasts, collectors and investors are invited to explore the latest listings at https://rrauctions.com.au/ register to bid and become part of Australia’s fastest-growing collector car community. Bidding ends on the 25th March, 2026.
