Rural Fire Service volunteers (RFS) and their families will witness critically endangered animals up close for free on the NSW south coast this Sunday (25 October 2026).

To celebrate the hard work and contribution of its members and their families, the Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA) has organised a Family Day with 900 people expected to attend the popular Mogo Wildlife Park.

The event at the 70-acre conservation and wildlife protection area will include a catered lunch and ice creams, as well as the RFS mental health team being on site to talk to volunteers about mental health and wellbeing.

Mogo Wildlife Park includes gorillas, rhinoceros, silvery gibbons, Bolivian squirrel monkeys, giraffes, zebras, meerkats, cheetahs, cotton-top tamarins, Sumatran tigers, Nepalese red pandas, ring-tailed lemurs and white lions.

With the fire season already underway, RFSA President Scott Campbell said this was one of many ways the organisation supports its members.

“We are delighted to be returning to Mogo Wildlife Park with some 900 members expected to attend the day. It is a great opportunity for them to have some R&R ahead of the upcoming warmer months.

“As well as catching up with volunteers and their families, I am particularly looking forward to seeing the meerkats.”

The RFSA exists to support members who give their time and energy to help our communities in what can be the most challenging days of their lives.

This RFSA Family Day will run from 9am to 4pm on Sunday 25 October at Mogo Wildlife Park, which is about 10 kilometres south of Batemans Bay.
