Key Facts:
  • Retro Rides' RR Auctions recorded more than $1.5 million in sales during July, headlined by a 2012 Ferrari F12berlinetta fetching $390,000, with other notable results including a Ford Mustang Dark Horse at $100,000 and a rare 1985 HDT VK Brock Commodore barn find at $30,000.
  • The Australian-owned auction platform has moved to a weekly format, with auctions running for nine days and new vehicles added to the site daily, allowing sellers to achieve faster results and giving buyers a constantly refreshed selection.
  • Retro Rides has launched RR Finance, connecting buyers with more than 80 lenders specialising in performance, classic, and collector vehicles, enabling pre-approval before bidding via an online calculator and application process.
  • The platform has also expanded its offering into motorcycles, broadening its reach while maintaining its focus on enthusiast vehicles.
  • RR Auctions is 100 per cent Australian-owned and operated, with safeguards including vehicle history checks, government identification verification for bidders, and transaction funds held in trust until agreed terms are met.

More than $1.5 million worth of performance, classic and collector vehicles changed hands through Retro Rides’ RR Auctions in July, led by the $390,000 sale of a Ferrari F12berlinetta.

The result marks another strong month for the Australian-owned auction platform, which has moved to a weekly auction schedule and launched RR Finance to help buyers arrange funding before they bid.

July’s sales covered everything from European exotics and modern performance cars to Australian muscle and affordable classics.

Leading the results was a 2012 Ferrari F12berlinetta, finished in Rosso Corsa over tan and showing just 22,114 kilometres. The V12 grand tourer sold for $390,000 and was accompanied by a complete Ferrari International digital service history.

Other notable results included a Ford Mustang Dark Horse at $100,000, a 2015 Aston Martin Vanquish at $95,000 and a 2012 BMW 1M Coupe at $74,500.

A matching-numbers 1985 HDT VK SL Group A Brock Commodore barn find sold for $30,000. Believed to be one of approximately 50 produced, HDT build number 1776 was offered as an untouched restoration project with authentication and supporting documentation.

At the other end of the Italian motoring spectrum, a gently modified 1969 Fiat 500 F achieved $22,750.

The strong July result comes as RR Auctions settles into its new weekly format. Auctions now run for nine days, opening on a Monday and closing the following Wednesday, with new vehicles added to the site daily.

“Shifting to weekly auctions has had a positive impact for both our buyers and sellers, with sellers now able to get cars sold faster and buyers seeing new vehicles on site daily,” Retro Rides founder Cameron Jurd said.

The current auction continues the mix, with a 2019 Porsche 911 (991.2) Carrera, limited-edition 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 and 1988 Lancia Delta Integrale 16V among the latest vehicles on offer.

RR Finance is now live. Retro Rides has also launched RR Finance, giving buyers access to finance options from more than 80 lenders specialising across performance, classic and collector vehicles.

Buyers can use the online calculator to estimate repayments and complete an application at any time, allowing them to understand their budget and seek pre-approval before bidding.

“For enthusiasts, timing can make the difference between securing a long-sought vehicle and watching it go to someone else. Arranging finance in advance gives buyers the confidence to bid when the right car appears, without having to begin the process after the auction closes,” Cameron Jurd said.

RR Finance offers a range of loan options and access to lenders familiar with enthusiast vehicles, making the purchasing process simpler for buyers looking for their first classic, their next performance car or another addition to an established collection.

The finance launch is the latest step in the continued growth of Retro Rides and RR Auctions. The platform has also recently expanded into motorcycles, broadening its offering while remaining focused on enthusiast vehicles and the culture surrounding them.

RR Auctions is 100 per cent Australian-owned and operated. Its curated listings combine professional photography and detailed vehicle information with verified users and safeguards for buyers and sellers.

Vehicle histories are checked, bidders undergo government identification verification and transaction funds are held in trust until both parties have met the agreed terms.
