Sydney (Australia), 11 November 2025: Schneider Electric, a global energy technology leader, today announced the 2025 Go Green Competition winners, celebrating youth-led innovation and impactful environmental solutions from around the world. Backed by the Youth Education & Entrepreneurship and Access to Energy programs, this challenge invited teams of students and young entrepreneurs from around the world to create solutions that promote reliable energy access, enhanced wellbeing, and greater cost savings for communities.

First place: GH-Solar Equalizers – Austria

GH-Solar Equalizers impressed the judges with their visionary project, Innovation with Purpose. This initiative tackles energy poverty, gender inequality, and agricultural underproductivity in rural Ghana. By equipping low-income women farmers with solar-powered smart irrigation systems, the project enables scalable, climate-smart farming while unlocking access to clean energy, digital tools, and financial inclusion. Their solution exemplifies the power of youth-driven innovation to create meaningful change across continents.

"GH-Solar Equalizers reinvents rural agriculture by introducing solar irrigation and smart technologies to drive social impact. Our shared vision is a complete eradication of human drudgery in rural agriculture, leading to the creation of diversified incomes and tackling gender inequality and energy poverty at its core. Join us so we collectively change the face of rural agriculture.”

Second place: Knights of the Sun – Japan

Knights of the Sun earned second place with a forward-thinking approach to enhance agricultural productivity while promoting water sustainability and energy efficiency. Their solution, BanyuSurya, is a solar-powered, modular irrigation optimisation system that integrates three key technologies: Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) to extract water from air, Rainwater harvesting for sustainable water collection, AI-powered irrigation and device maintenance to optimise water usage and ensure system efficiency.

Third place: The Green Hornet – India

The Green Hornet secured third place by focusing on Vidarbha, a drought-prone region in Maharashtra, India, that has faced a severe agrarian crisis for decades, marked by thousands of farmer suicides. Their solution centres on solar energy as the exclusive renewable source for irrigation, chosen for its reliability and abundance in Vidarbha’s climate.

"Every year, I am amazed by the creativity, boldness and determination of young people who are committed to a more sustainable world. The 2025 edition of the Go Green Competition illustrates how essential young people's innovation is to reinventing our relationship with energy and the planet.

At Schneider Electric, we firmly believe that supporting this generation means preparing for a fairer and more resilient future. Through our Schneider Electric Youth Impact Through Learning – Youth Education & Entrepreneurship (YEE) program, more than one million young people in over 60 countries have already been trained in the skills of tomorrow: energy, sustainability and entrepreneurship. Our Access to Energy initiatives extend this commitment, opening up new opportunities for the most vulnerable communities,” shared Gilles Vermont Desroches, Corporate Citizenship and Institutional Affairs SVP.

The Go Green 2025 competition drew submissions from over 50 countries, showcasing the creativity and commitment of young leaders to address climate challenges. The winning teams will receive funding, mentorship, and global exposure to help scale their professional network.
