SEYMOUR PRESENTS: SEYMOUR EXPLORES - A NEW PROGRAM OF LITERARY TALKS FEATURING SOME OF AUSTRALIA'S MOST CELEBRATED WRITERS

Seymour presents, SEYMOUR EXPLORES, an exciting new series of literary talks designed to bring audiences into conversation with some of Australia's most celebrated writers, thinkers and storytellers.  

Featuring renowned Australian voices including Bruce Pascoe, Suzie Miller and Tim Winton, Seymour Explores offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from leading authors as they share the ideas, inspirations and stories behind their work. Presented in partnership with Gleebooks, and spanning children's literature, fiction, theatre and contemporary culture, the series invites audiences to engage with the voices shaping Australia's literary landscape. 

The series launched on 1 August 2026 with ANDY GRIFFITHS LIVE: YOU & ME AND THE GIGANTIC KNUCKLEHEAD. More than 300 people joined the No. 1 bestselling Treehouse series creator and Australian Children's Laureate, Andy Griffiths, alongside illustrator Bill Hope, for an interactive celebration of the latest instalment in the wildly inventive You & Me series.  

Building on its highly successful debut, SEYMOUR EXPLORES will return on 29 September 2026 with the launch of award-winning Aboriginal farmer and writer, BRUCE PASCOE’s new book, THE EUROPEAN MIND, in conversation with Wiradjuri poet and artist Jazz Money. Best known for his groundbreaking bestseller Dark Emu, Pascoe’s latest work offers a powerful critique of the ideas behind empire, taking readers on a journey of how we arrived here and where we hope to be, examining Western powers from a First Nations perspective. 

The series will continue on 30 September 2026 with SUZIE MILLER’s INTER ALIA. Following the global success of Prima Facie, internationally acclaimed playwright will join celebrated theatre and film producer Jo Dyer in conversation. Miller’s latest work is a searing and intimate exploration of modern masculinity, motherhood and systemic justice, revealing the fragile compromises women make as they navigate enduring patriarchal structures. 

This will be followed by the launch of TIM WINTON’s SONGS FROM THE FIREFRONT on 9 November 2026, with the acclaimed Australian author in conversation with interviewer and literary curator Michaela Kalowski. One of Australia’s most decorated living writers – a four-time Miles Franklin winner (Shallows, Cloudstreet, Dirt Music, Breath) and twice Booker-shortlisted – Winton returns with a powerful and deeply personal reflection on family, community and life in an era of environmental crisis. Full of rage, humour and hope, Songs From the Firefront explores how we endure, connect and care for one another in a rapidly changing world. 

Through the series, the Seymour will become a space for audiences to engage with the ideas that shape our culture through thoughtful, inspiring and illuminating conversations.
