Strategic acquisition delivers comprehensive wastewater screening solutions, strengthening Australasia’s most comprehensive and innovative preliminary treatment equipment portfolios
The acquisition by Smith & Loveless Australia Pty Ltd of CST Wastewater Solutions Pty Ltd brings together the service and capabilities of two advanced wastewater technology companies that have worked in partnership on projects throughout Australasia for the last 20 years.
They are now forming an even stronger united entity serving Australia and New Zealand says Smith & Loveless Australia Pty Ltd, which is the long-established the local operation of the Smith & Loveless Inc, which operates in 70 countries, including Australia and New Zealand where it is the Australasian leader in water and wastewater solids separation technologies, including screening, grit removal, and clarifier systems.
Smith & Loveless Australia P/L’s (S&L) says the acquisition, announced this month further solidifies S&L’s leadership position in wastewater inlet works and particle separation technologies, allowing the company to deliver to its industry partners and customers tremendous value leveraged through innovative equipment packages.
CST Wastewater Solutions P/L (CST Wastewater) brings decades of expertise extending from designing a comprehensive range of specialised wastewater screening technologies – including fine screens for MBR applications –through to compacting, conveying, washing, and dewatering equipment for both municipal and industrial markets. CST Wastewater solutions is also a leading provider of a broad range of wastewater service arrangements, which will be retained and extended under the new ownership, said CST Wastewater Solutions Managing Director Michael Bambridge.
Smith & Loveless Australia Pty. Ltd. said in announcing the asset acquisition of CST Wastewater Solutions Pty. Ltd., of Roseville, NSW, includes Smith & Loveless Australia P/L’s affiliated companies Smith & Loveless Inc. and Smith & Loveless New Zealand Ltd. Terms between the entities were not disclosed.
Smith & Loveless Inc. President Frank J. Rebori praised the synergies between the two companies, emphasising CST Wastewater’s brand reputation and market leadership in municipal and industrial fine screens throughout Australia and beyond, fitting with S&L’s global leadership in grit removal solutions.

Protecting People,’” Rebori continued.
CST Wastewater Managing Director Mike Bambridge said that, in addition to retaining all technical support and service backup for existing customers, the association with Smith & Loveless would accelerate the growth and expansion of the combined capabilities of CST Wastewater capabilities and complementary S&L capabilities and technologies.

General Manager for Smith & Loveless Australia and affiliate S&L New Zealand Joe Gill – who has worked closely with Mike Bambridge and CST for more than two decades on many common projects and will oversee the sales and marketing transfer – shared the common vision the acquisition achieves.
