MEDIA STATEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 26 August 2026
SSB Advisory, the Liquidators of Avondale Heights Childcare & Early Learning Centre, issued the following statement today:
On 25 August 2026, SSB Advisory was appointed liquidator to the company Belotte Pty Ltd formerly trading as Avondale Heights Childcare & Early Learning Centre (the Centre).
Due to the Centre’s financial position and concerns about continuity of care, the directors determined that the Centre should be closed.
On 25 August, parents and guardians were notified that due to the Centre’s closure, their child’s enrolment would cease at the close of business on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.
On 25 August Centre employees were notified their employment would cease at the close of business on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.
“Unfortunately, given the circumstances, and a number of recent staff resignations, the directors were not confident that appropriate staffing levels and continuity of care could be maintained and therefore determined that the centre should close immediately,” SSB Advisory’s Mr Glenn Spooner said.
“At the same time, the financial pressures facing the centre had reached a point that could no longer be sustained.”
Families and Centre staff had previously been made aware of intentions to sell the Centre. A contract of sale for the business had been entered into; however the intended purchaser was unable to settle the transaction.
“The Directors had been personally funding the operation of the business for an extended period and could no longer continue to personally fund the operation of the business,” Mr Spooner said.
“We know that families have placed their trust in the Centre to care for their children and that this sudden change may be difficult.
“On behalf of the Centre, we are deeply sorry that the Centre had to close in this way, and we recognise the uncertainty and disruption the sudden closure has caused both families and staff,” he said.
