STEPS launches new Innisfail site giving locals access to education and training and disability employment support

STEPS

STEPS’ new Innisfail site is outfitted with engaging classrooms and hands-on training tools, helping locals access learning through the free STEPS Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program, and will also offer disability employment support through STEPS Work Mates, which is new to the area.

This investment in Innisfail continues STEPS’ commitment to Far North Queensland, with sites in Cairns City, Edmonton, Gordonvale, Mareeba, and Mossman.

What: STEPS Innisfail site launch event with opportunities for interviews and vision of new classrooms.

When: 12pm, Friday 22 May 2026

Where: STEPS Innisfail, 5 Lily Street, Innisfail

Why: New STEPS site with refurbished classrooms to provide free education and training to members of the community, along with disability employment support.

Who: STEPS General Manager of Education and Training Carolyn Fletcher, STEPS Regional Manager for Northern Queensland Julian Szuba, STEPS Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program trainers and participants.

The Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program is funded by the 
Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. RTO 1847.
