Strong conference speaker line-up demonstrates strength in Queensland’s North West Minerals Province

 

MEETING OF THE MINES CONFERENCE: September 11 to 13

 

The strong line-up of speakers at this week’s Cloncurry Shire Council Meeting of the Mines Conference is testament to the focus and investment in Queensland’s North West Minerals Province, with participation on track to exceed expectations.

One session entitled Serving Communities in Moments of Need has a panel of health experts including LifeFlight Chief of External Affairs and Advocacy, Terry Kempnich, Retrieval Services Queensland Executive Director, Dr Mark Alcock, Aeromedical Contract Management & Support Director, Michael Cussen, and LifeFlight GM of Philanthropy, Peter Duffy.

 

Now also confirmed is renowned celebrity chef, Miguel Maestre, who will be returning to Cloncurry in 2024 to host the Meeting of the Mines Gala Dinner.

 

Cloncurry Shire Council Mayor Greg Campbell said this year’s event will build on the success of the inaugural Meeting of the Mines in 2023 that was named Regional Event of the Year by the peak body representing Australian event planners.

 

“Last year's inaugural conference featured a stellar lineup of speakers, key discussions on unlocking the region's potential, informative panels, and conversations with industry leaders,” he said.

 

Meeting of the Mines was created by Cloncurry Shire Council with the aim of tackling the challenges and opportunities facing future mining projects in the region.
