SydWest builds pathways into construction [Event Alert]

A partnership between SydWest, TAFE NSW and Glascott is creating opportunities for job seekers to gain the skills and connections needed to launch a career in construction.

"This partnership demonstrates what's possible when community organisations, educators and industry work together to create innovative pathways," said Tony Birungi, Senior Caseworker at SydWest.

The free six-week Job Readiness for Construction Industry Program will help participants learn workplace terminology and safety requirements and undertake hands-on training in bricklaying and landscape construction. 

Delivered by TAFE NSW, in partnership with SydWest and Glascott, the program will support people to enter one of Australia's most dynamic sectors, preparing them for real employment opportunities, whilst addressing workforce demand in the sector.

Interested participants are invited to attend an information session at SydWest on 22 October, ahead of the program commencing at TAFE NSW Nirimba on 29 October.
