Terra Sol Studio unveils the next chapter of The Terra Sol Switch, following global buzz from “The Fall of Plastic Chic”
The conversation has started and it’s only getting louder.
Following the release of The Fall of Plastic Chic, Terra Sol Studio’s bold visual campaign has sparked global interest, with editorial requests, café owners, and cultural creators reaching out to learn more. The brand is now beginning to expand into the U.S., following a recent trip by founder and CEO Louise Sykes, who introduced Terra Sol’s truly home compostable packaging to a market still saturated with single-use plastic and misleading alternatives.
The response was clear: people are ready for better.
The campaign’s message, that most so-called “compostable” takeaway cups are not truly compostable in real-world conditions, is landing with impact. Many cafés reached out after the first release, asking for more information and admitting they hadn’t realised how limited their current packaging solutions really were.
Now, Terra Sol is unveiling the next phase of The Terra Sol Switch, with three new limited-edition posters set to challenge the industry all over again.
Each design exposes the hidden flaws of so-called sustainable cups, where they end up, why they don’t break down, and how consumers are being misled. With bold visuals and cultural wit, they lay the truth bare.
“This is about rebuilding trust,” says Terra Sol founder Louise Sykes. “Most businesses are genuinely trying to do the right thing but the system is up against them. They’re being sold ‘eco’ cups that don’t actually break down unless they go to specialised facilities, which is slightly misleading.”
At the centre of the campaign is PHA, a revolutionary biopolymer made from plant oils, not fossil fuels, that fully biodegrades, even in the ocean. It doesn’t require industrial composting, and it’s already being adopted by forward-thinking brands looking to move past greenwashed packaging once and for all.
Terra Sol is proud to be in exclusive partnership with EcoPHA Biotech, the Australian company behind the recently patent-filed Pongamia oil-based PHA, a major advancement in sustainable materials. This groundbreaking innovation was recently showcased at FEMS 2025 in Milan, where it drew international attention from scientists, designers, and sustainability leaders alike.
Terra Sol’s limited-time initiative The Terra Sol Switch will officially launch across social media this week, offering the first ten businesses who share the campaign and pledge to switch to PHA 1,000 free takeaway cups printed with exclusive We Made The Switch artwork.
From press coverage to café conversations, The Terra Sol Switch is proving that people are ready for the truth, and ready to change.
