The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Australia invites the public and media to join its annual Australia Day celebrations on Monday, 26th January. Centered at Australia’s largest mosque, Baitul Huda in Marsden Park, the event brings people together in a shared pledge of allegiance to the nation.

Formal ceremonies will be held at Ahmadiyya Muslim mosques across the country. Each event will feature a flag-hoisting ceremony and the singing of the national anthem. Community members and invited dignitaries will also deliver short thanksgiving speeches, sharing reflections on the values of Australian citizenship and the spirit of mateship.

The National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Australia, Imam I.H. Kauser, stated:

“We, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, pray daily for the progress and prosperity of our homeland, Australia. Celebrating Australia Day is a cherished tradition for us. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our nation, our government, and our fellow citizens because our faith teaches us that loyalty to one’s country is an essential part of Islamic faith.”

The day holds deep spiritual significance for the Community. Proceedings will begin with special prayers for the nation's well-being, followed by participation in various local community celebrations throughout the day.

This commitment to national loyalty is rooted in the guidance of the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Fifth Caliph, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who has remarked:

“True loyalty requires a relationship built on sincerity and integrity… it is essential for a citizen of any country to establish a relationship of genuine loyalty and faithfulness to his nation. It does not matter whether he is a born citizen, or whether he gains citizenship later in life.”
