LIVE COVERAGE BEGINS THIS WEEKEND WITH THE CIRCUIT EXCEL NATIONALS
MEDIA RELEASE: 11 June 2026: The Bend Championship Series has secured a two-year broadcast deal with Kayo SPORTS, delivering national coverage across all championship rounds, providing unprecedented national exposure for grassroots motorsport.
The deal, which kicks off this weekend with the 2026 Circuit Excel Nationals, gives national visibility previously reserved for professional categories like Repco Supercars, Formula One and MotoGP.
Dr Sam Shahin, Managing Director of The Bend Motorsport Park, said the partnership represented a landmark moment for Australian motorsport.
“Grassroots motorsport is the foundation of our industry. Every professional driver and rider starts somewhere, and this partnership with Kayo SPORTS gives competitors in The Bend Championship Series a national platform to showcase their talent, attract sponsors and advance their careers,” he said.
The Bend Championship Series, formerly the South Australian Motor Racing Championship, runs exclusively at The Bend and Mallala Motorsport Park. Featuring six rounds, with more than 130 competitors per round, across three to six racing categories, it has established itself as one of Australia’s premier state-level motorsport competitions.
“We are committed to investing in the future of the sport. This broadcast agreement is about creating opportunities for competitors at every level while making our sport more accessible to fans across the country.
“The Bend Championship Series represents everything that is great about grassroots racing. Passion, competition, community and opportunity. We are proud to be able to showcase that on a national stage,” said Dr Shahin.
The Bend Motorsport Park Championship Manager Adam Brook agreed and said the agreement would also create significant opportunities for competitors and sponsors alike.
“This is a game-changing moment for our competitors, teams and partners.
“For many drivers, this will be the first opportunity to compete in front of a national audience. It provides a level of exposure that has traditionally been difficult for grassroots motorsport to access.
“The quality of racing within our championship continues to improve year after year. Having all rounds in 2026 broadcast live on Kayo SPORTS is recognition of the calibre of competition we have built and the direction the championship is heading.
“Most importantly, it gives our competitors a platform. Whether you’re a young driver chasing a career in motorsport or a hobby racer competing for the love of the sport, you now have the opportunity to be seen by audiences across Australia,” Mr Brook said.
This weekend’s Circuit Excel Nationals is the second round in The Bend Championship Series. It features a single-make category based around the Hyundai Excel X3 and is one of Australia's most accessible and competitive club racing categories. Known for large fields and close-fought racing, it attracts competitors ranging from first-timers to experienced racers.
Taking place at The Bend Motorsport Park Tailem Bend this weekend, 13 and 14 June, it will be the first round broadcast live on Kayo SPORTS. Spectator entry is free for all rounds, with the exception of The Bend Classic Country Music Festival.
