The Hon. Matt Kean FCA to join business and finance leaders at CA ANZ Sustainability Conference 2026

Chartered Accountants ANZ

12 October 2026

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand's Sustainability Conference 2026 will bring together leading experts from sustainability, finance and business to explore the decisions shaping resilience, performance and long-term value amid economic, technological and regulatory change.

Headlining the conference will be The Hon. Matt Kean FCA, Chair of the Climate Change Authority, alongside speakers including Simon Weaver, Global Head of Sustainability Advisory at KPMG International, Alison Weaver, Director of Sustainable Finance Policy at NSW Treasury, and Nick Wandke, Head of Sustainability, Business and Wealth at Westpac.

Attendees will also receive a first look at CA ANZ's upcoming Centre for Sustainability Reporting, a new destination for finance professionals that will bring together sustainability reporting guidance, tools, resources and learning pathways in one place.

Ainslie van Onselen, CA ANZ Chief Executive Officer, said organisations were increasingly focused on how sustainability considerations could inform strategy, risk management and long-term performance.

"The conversation around sustainability has evolved. It's no longer just about reporting, but about using better information to make better business decisions, strengthen resilience and create long-term value,” Ms van Onselen said.

"The most successful organisations will be those that can connect sustainability information with strategy, risk, performance and investment decisions. That's where the real value lies."

Ms van Onselen said CA ANZ was focused on helping members turn sustainability reporting requirements into practical business outcomes.

"That’s why we’re investing in new education, guidance and events, including our sustainability reporting microcredentials and the upcoming Centre for Sustainability Reporting, alongside our leading advocacy and publications, all designed to give members the practical support they need,” she said.

Reflecting the theme, Shaping the Future: Reporting, Resilience and Value Creation, the conference will explore some of the most pressing sustainability challenges facing organisations, including assurance readiness, Scope 3 reporting, stakeholder expectations, nature-related disclosures and the growing role of artificial intelligence in sustainability practice.

The Sustainability Conference 2026 will be held on 16 October. To view the full program and register to attend, visit the CA ANZ website.
