Batemans Bay, NSW – Sea Otter Australia, the premier global celebration of cycling, is set to return to Batemans Bay and the Mogo Trails from 22–25 October 2026. Backed by a 35-year history and global legacy rooted in Monterey, California, Sea Otter Australia has established Batemans Bay and Eurobodalla on the NSW South Coast as its home on the doorstep to Mogo Trails.

Hands down the biggest bike show in the Southern Hemisphere, year two expands the event footprint into a seismic, multi-day outdoor festival featuring 250+ global and Australian brands, 10 official racing disciplines, 2,500 athletes, and over 10,000 expected attendees. Located at Hanging Rock Oval within riding distance of the multi-million-dollar Mogo Trails network, the festival site will stretch hundreds of tents deep – packed with more bikes, gear, brand activations, and global product launches than anywhere else in Australasia.

A high-impact platform for sponsors and exhibitors

Building on the milestone success of the 2025 inaugural event, Sea Otter Australia 2026 offers exhibitors and trade partners unprecedented commercial reach. For a full week in October, over 80% of the Australian cycling industry alongside international and local executives and decision-makers will converge in Batemans Bay.

  • Major Brand Activations & Demos: Industry powerhouses including Scott Bikes (launching their all-new 2027 range), Bosch eBike Systems (offering Performance Line CX demo rides), Thule (featuring the Thule Basecamp and ambassador Annie Ford on her “Driveway to Dirt” ride from Tasmania), Shimano (launching their NEXTgen Ambassador program), Maxxis, Fox, Smith, and Muc-Off will lead non-stop activations, giveaways, athlete meet & greets, interactive gear setups and trackside wash/care stations.
  • Global Product Launches: Sea Otter Australia 2026 will serve as an exclusive global launchpad for international brands introducing cutting-edge bikes, tech, and gear to the Southern Hemisphere and world markets.
  • Commercial Confidence: With over 120 exhibiting businesses and 250+ represented brands, the Expo provides sponsors and trade partners with three continuous days of high-capacity consumer engagement, direct-to-market visibility, and trade networking.

“Following our relocation to Eurobodalla as principal contractors for the detailed design and construction of Mogo Trails, our internal growth projections from last year’s inaugural Sea Otter Australia Festival targeted international scale by 2028. That milestone has arrived two years early.” - Juliane Wisata, CEO of Rocky Trail Entertainment / Sea Otter Australia.

Delivering measurable ROI for Regional & Event Stakeholders

Beyond world-class cycling, Sea Otter Australia acts as a major economic engine of the Eurobodalla mountain bike networks, headlined by Mogo Trails and the close-by Narooma MTB Park. The potential is huge to create momentum for sustained, year-round economic impact across the NSW South Coast and Great Southern Trails region, which represents 550km+ of mountain bike trails in the wider region.

  • Economic Projection & Visitor Spend: Delivering over 10,000 regional visitor nights, cycle tourists represent high-yield regional visitors who stay longer and spend significantly higher per day on local accommodation, hospitality, and retail.
  • Summit & B2B Leadership: The Sea Otter Australia Summit kicks off Thursday, 22 October, as an intimate, workshop-style 1-day conference at the Eurobodalla Botanic Garden Conference Room. Industry leaders and decision-makers will exchange ideas, tackle systemic outdoor sector challenges, and harness the “potential energy” of the global outdoor industry.
  • Land Manager Awards: Taking place Thursday evening, the 2026 Land Manager Awards will celebrate excellence in trail infrastructure, land management, and sustainable outdoor recreation.
  • Direct Supply Chain & Community Value: Organised by Rocky Trail Entertainment, the event employs 50+ festival staff, contracts over 20–30 local businesses, and engages 130+ local volunteers while returning grant funding to local community groups and school P&Cs.

World-class riding and racing across 10 major disciplines

At the heart of Sea Otter Australia’s festival energy is a massive 10-event racing and riding schedule, offering competitive action and social rides for elite pros, weekend warriors, adaptive athletes, and junior racers alike. Shuttled experiences will take riders to nearby Narooma Trails for gravity action or the infamous Burnaaga (“Goanna”) adventure trail at Mogo Trail, which offers a 30km ride through epic terrain from the Mt Wandera Summit to Mogo Town.

Centred on the world-class singletrack of Mogo Trails and the coastal beauty of Batemans Bay, headline competitive events include the Smith Optics Enduro, Fox Superflow® gravity showdown, Thule Cross Country Marathon, and the high-torque eOtterX – Bosch ePowered race. Competitors and spectators can also catch high-velocity action at the Shimano XC Crit, take on the scenic gravel routes in the Maxxis Effervelo Gravel Fondo, ride the Velosolutions Pump Track Showdown, or witness high-octane aerial stunts and airbag coaching sessions at the Otter Jam Freestyle Showcase. Rounding out the spectacle is Australia’s only beachside cyclocross spectacle - the Muc-Off Ottercross on Corrigans Beach - delivering non-stop bar-to-bar entertainment all weekend long.

Instilling pride across Eurobodalla and the South Coast

For the local community, Sea Otter Australia is a celebration of the South Coast’s identity as a world-class outdoor and mountain biking destination. To ensure local families and young riders are at the heart of the festival the locally-based organisers from Rocky Trail Entertainment provide:

  • Free Access for 5,000 Local Students: All school students across the Eurobodalla Shire receive free entry codes granting 3-day Expo Hub access for themselves and their families (valued at $25 per person). Kids under 12 attend the expo free.
  • Youth & School Racing: Local kids can take the start line in dedicated events including the Scott Flipper Race (for under-12s) and the Rocky Trail Academy Schools Championships (Year 4 through High School).
  • Community-Wide Inclusivity: From Australia’s only beach cyclo-cross race on Corrigans Beach to adaptive racing to family activity zones, the festival invites the entire region to experience the energy of a global sporting showcase right in their backyard.

Beyond the hype, this is where the Australian and global cycling industry comes to flex – featuring major international product launches, exclusive first-looks, and the largest concentration of interactive bike and eBike demos ever assembled in the Southern Hemisphere. Whether you’re a rider hunting for your next dream rig, a kid collecting stickers, or a retailer scouting the market, the 2026 Expo floor is where the future of cycling comes to life.
