The Warrior Woman Foundation Expands Program Nationally to Reach Vulnerable Young Women in Rural Communities
The Warrior Woman Foundation
With research showing 41% of rural women report lacking equal opportunities for career advancement compared to men*, Australian Women’s Charity, The Warrior Woman Foundation, has now expanded their flagship Young Warrior Woman Program nationally to reach vulnerable young women across the country.
Since 2020, The Warrior Woman Foundation has supported over 200 young women in-person in NSW and QLD, matching each with dedicated mentors who provide personalised one-on-one guidance, alongside structured life skills education covering areas such as financial literacy, career readiness, and confidence-building. Through a combination of mentoring and practical workshops, the initiative equips young women with the tools and networks needed to navigate their futures.
This year, the Foundation will expand the Young Warrior Woman Program online for the first time, allowing young women aged 17 to 25 from regional communities across all of Australia to receive the same level of personalised support and connection previously only delivered in-person.
Founded by previous NSW Women of the Year Award Recipient, Jessica Brown, the mentoring program was first developed to support the growing number of young women in Australia who are at risk of not finishing their high school years, transitioning from the out-of-home care system, or those needing guidance to navigate their future and find their place in the world.
“Sharing the wisdom of our mentors on a national scale is a step I am incredibly proud of. It’s inspiring to see such a powerful support system grow and reach more communities,” says Jessica.
“The expansion reflects a growing demand for personalised initiatives that connect young women across Australia with trusted mentors who provide consistent support and connection with our three-tiered holistic approach to our program delivery. Our goal is to equip them with the skills to develop resilience, employment pathways and financial literacy.”
Applications are now open for mentees across Australia, with the next intake commencing in June, and young women from all backgrounds are called to register and join a supportive community focused on building independence and confidence. To apply as a mentee please visit warriorwoman.org.au/mentee/.
To celebrate this milestone, The Warrior Woman Foundation are hosting a fundraising luncheon, Walk Beside Her, at Doltone House on May 16th, inviting supporters and community members to gather to hear from keynote speakers Jalena Dokic and Erika Cramer, and gain insight into the organisation’s work and ongoing impact. Tickets from $175 (+ handling fee) and are available via the Humanitix website.
