Third Public Works Committee Report of 2025 recommends expediency for Infrastructure Department office fit-out
Parliament of Australia
On 27 October 2025, the Chair of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works, Mr Tony Zappia MP, presented the third Public Works Committee Report of 2025 to the House of Representatives.
This report considers and recommends expediency for one proposal from the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sports and the Arts’ (the Department) for an office fit-out of new leased premises at 7 London Circuit, Canberra City, Australian Capital Territory. The total cost of delivery of the project is $32.5 million.
During its inquiry, the Committee heard from the Department regarding how the fit-out will utilise a precinct model to provide for the long-term accommodation needs of the Department.
Mr Zappia MP said “The Committee is satisfied with the proposal and acknowledges the comprehensive staff consultation process undertaken by the Department. The Committee encourages the Department to continue to prioritise accessibility preferences to ensure the fit-out accommodates the diverse needs of staff.” “The Department should carefully manage the proposed works to ensure best use and value of Commonwealth funding, and the Committee looks forward to reviewing the next phase of the Department’s transition of staff into the proposed precinct,” Mr Zappia said.
