Six tiny homes and 20 powered sites have been installed at Reflections Evans Head on a site temporarily used as emergency housing for residents impacted by the 2022 floods in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.
Known as “The Terrace”, the Oak Lane site was repurposed as a temporary village, with the State Government engaging an independent community housing provider to install and manage temporary modular housing units as an emergency response to the floods.
In late 2025, the site was returned to Crown Land manager Reflections Holidays, which manages Reflections Evans Head holiday park, and the organisation invested $2.5 million to install six tiny homes and 20 powered sites, complete extensive landscaping and upgrade IT in the precinct.
Four of the contemporary tiny homes sleep four, and the remaining two sleep two people, and each has a covered deck and individual parking. The new Terrace precinct connects to the nearby Riverside precinct at Reflections Evans Head, the largest coastal holiday park in the Reflections portfolio of 40 holiday parks.
Minister for Recovery and Minister for North Coast Janelle Saffin said:
"The Terrace at Evans Head played a vital role in providing secure, temporary housing for Northern Rivers residents during an incredibly challenging time following the 2022 floods."
"As our community continues to recover and rebuild, it is wonderful to see this site thoughtfully transitioned into a space that welcomes visitors back to our beautiful region, helping to support local small businesses and boost the North Coast tourism economy."
Reflections Chief Executive Officer Nick Baker said the organisation, a social enterprise which reinvests profit into its holiday parks and the 45 community reserves it cares for, had been happy to assist the NSW Government with the emergency accommodation at the site, and it was pleasing that it was now available once again to travellers, buoying the local tourist economy.
“Evans Head is a beautiful destination and one of our most popular parks, and our team has worked hard to transform The Terrace precinct to a beautiful space that meets demand from our guests for both tiny homes and camping sites,” Mr Baker said.
