Trade Showcase set to place Hort Industry in the Spotlight

Key Facts:This week Avocados Australia’s “North Queensland Avocado Industry & Hort SHOW DAYS” will provide all NQ growers, their families and staff, with the chance to meet, network and fact find on a whole range of products and services that can add value to their businesses. This is an event for all of horticulture. It’s more than a trade showcase though as there will be food vans, live entertainment and many prize giveaways over the two days. Locals are invited to join in from Thursday 9 October (12.00pm to 9.00pm) to Friday 10 October (8.00am to 5.00pm) at The Pack Centre (37-39 Albrecht Street, Tolga).

Over the 2 days members of the horticulture industry will see a huge range of trade and machinery displays, hear from industry suppliers and find out more about Avocados Australia’s export program.
Avocados Australia’s NQ Avocado Export Regional Forum has four sessions integrated into the event program where the crowd can hear from expert speakers about exporting, emerging global trends and how this can impact on stronger farm gate returns. The latest update on market access developments is also top of mind for the industry. The Export Forum’s program is HERE.
Equipment exhibitors will include NQ Agricultural Services, Quinto Ag Machinery, Honeycombe, Casali's, DTE Equipment, Brown & Hurley, Croplands, Russo & Vella Machinery and AgDrone.Au.
There will be many lucky door prizes contributed to by 80 exhibitors, PLUS three $500-$1000 major prizes including vouchers from Mareeba Transport and TGT Agriculture, as well as a chainsaw courtesy of Hydralada.
Live music will feature throughout both days with seven food vans. Look out for the Crater Mountain Coffee van with their signature coffee ice cream! Our thanks also go to the Barron Valley Hotel for hosting the bars for this event.
The gold coin entry fee for this event will be donated to Remote Animal Assistance who will have some furry friends up for adoption helping on the gate.
NQ avocado grower and Avocados Australia’s Chair, Matt Kleyn, is looking forward to seeing everyone over the two days.
“This event offers a fun and enjoyable way to catch-up with others in the industry and the program offers something for everyone,” said Matt Kleyn.
John Tyas, Avocados Australia’s CEO, will be presenting an Avocado Industry Update as part of the NQ Avocado Export Regional Forum sessions. In 2024/25 Australia exported 14,235 tonnes of avocados and the aim is to increase exports year-on-year.* Find out how by dropping by The Pack Centre’s Cool Rooms on Day 1 at 3.00pm.
