Victorian Chamber launches new Business Legal Support Line to help businesses make confident decisions
Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Victorian businesses will soon have access to a new Business Legal Support Line through a partnership between the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Law Squared, providing members with fast, practical commercial legal guidance to support day-to-day business decision-making.
Launching from 1 July 2026, the new service will provide access to qualified legal professionals for guidance on a range of commercial matters including commercial and procurement contracts, commercial and retail leasing, corporate governance, intellectual property, debt recovery and business disputes.
The initiative has been developed in response to growing demand for businesses seeking accessible and timely legal support as they navigate an increasingly complex operating environment.
The Business Legal Support Line will focus on commercial legal matters, helping businesses gain clarity before issues escalate, supporting more informed decision-making and reducing uncertainty. It is designed to complement, rather than replace, the Victorian Chamber’s Workplace Relations Advice Line, which continues to provide specialist advice on employment, workplace and industrial relations matters.
The service will be available to all Victorian Chamber and Committee for Melbourne members as part of their membership.

To be attributed to Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Sally Curtain:
“Good legal advice shouldn’t only be available once a problem becomes expensive.
“We regularly hear from businesses that they know they should seek legal guidance, but they put it off because they’re worried about cost or don’t know where to start.
“The reality is that a short conversation at the right time can help a business avoid costly mistakes, move faster and make better decisions.
“The Victorian Chamber exists to help businesses succeed. That’s why we’re partnering with Law Squared to give members access to practical commercial legal guidance when they need it, helping them navigate uncertainty with greater confidence.”
To be attributed to Law Squared CEO Claire Sundin
"Law Squared was built on a simple idea: that good legal advice should be clear, practical and accessible not something businesses put off because of cost or complexity.
"We know from experience that a short conversation at the right moment can change the direction of a decision. It can unlock something a founder has been sitting on or help a leadership team move forward with confidence.
"That's what this partnership is about. Victorian Chamber members deserve that kind of support and we're proud to be the team to deliver it."
