MEDIA RELEASE
Tickets go on sale this Friday for Melbourne’s iconic Christmas event
This Friday October 10, carollers from across the state can purchase tickets to this year’s Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight, presented by AAMI.
Held at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, the event will play host to an array of Australia's biggest musical stars, while raising important funds for children who are blind or have low vision.
Tickets for both the main event on Christmas Eve and the rehearsal night on December 23 will be available at www.carolsbycandlelight.com.au.
Vision Australia General Manager of Fundraising and Marketing Ian Finlayson said the event has held a special place in the hearts of Australians for generations.
“Each year, Carols by Candlelight welcomes thousands of people through its doors to watch some of Australia’s best and brightest performers. Thanks to the ticket proceeds and the generosity of the public, we’ve raised millions of dollars to ensure children who are blind or have low vision can access life-changing services,” said Ian.
“Our research shows that early intervention is crucial for children who are blind or have low vision to thrive. Through specialist services such as paediatric occupational therapy, orthoptics, and orientation and mobility training, Vision Australia helps children build the skills they need for meaningful participation, social inclusion, and future employment.
“I invite anyone who is looking to enjoy a night of live music and festive spirit to join us. With your help, we can continue to support children who are blind or have low vision.”
Event goers can look forward to a mix of familiar favourites and fresh talent, with our returning Carols family; Denis Walter, Silvie Paladino, Marina Prior, David Hobson, Tim Campbell and Anthony Callea. All performing under the baton of Musical Director John Foreman.
AAMI, Australia’s leading personal insurer, is continuing its support for events that have a real impact on all Australians. Embracing the true spirit of togetherness during the festive season, AAMI proudly sponsors Carols by Candlelight, recognising its importance as a cherished Christmas tradition and vital fundraiser.
For those who wish to watch from home, the full show will be broadcast on Channel 9 and 9Now live from 8pm on Christmas Eve, as well as a replay on Christmas Day.
You can also tune in to the simulcast on 2UE 954 in Sydney, 4BH in Brisbane and Magic 1278 in Melbourne for your listening pleasure. Additionally, Vision Australia Radio will provide professional audio description through their local stations and online for an accessible listening experience.
