Warwick’s Callum Miller heads to Canada for PBR Championship showdown
Queensland bull riding star Callum Miller (30 years) is set to take on the world this weekend, competing in the PBR Canadian Championships, one of the pinnacle events of bull riding in North America.
The Warwick bull rider made a lightning-fast return to Australia for the PBR Australia National Championships two weeks ago, marking the first time he had competed in PBR in his home country in 10 years, and was straight back on a plane to continue representing Australia.
Currently ranked 47th in the world, Miller rides for the famed Austin Gamblers in the elite PBR Teams league in the United States. His season this year has been packed with highlights, including a career-best 91.00-point ride on Let’s Roll during the Teams Series in August.
Miller’s recent success includes a victory at the PBR Medicine Hat Classic in Alberta, Canada, and he currently sits 16th in the PBR Canada standings, earning a coveted spot in this weekend’s Championship Finals, a stage reserved only for the top riders in the league.
“Callum is having one of his best seasons to date and will be the only Aussie carrying the flag at this year’s Canadian Finals. Rounding out a great season in Teams, Callum has a strong chance of taking the coveted buckle which offers a $50k guaranteed payday to Finals Champion,” said PBR Australia Managing Director Glen Young.
From his home in Warwick to arenas across North America, Miller continues to prove that Australian bull riders are among the most formidable in the world.
