The Cat Protection Society of Victoria (CPSV) is back with another purr-fectly fabulous fundraising event just in time for International Cat Day at Welcome to Thornbury on Friday 8 August. CPSV invites all cat lovers and enthusiasts to put their paws up for an unforgettable evening of laughs, dancing and expertly crafted cat-themed cocktails — all in the name of helping Victorian cats find their forever homes.
From 7pm, guests will be welcomed with a drink on arrival and delicious roaming canapés before settling in for an evening of laughter featuring some of Australia’s top comedic talent, such as the fearlessly funny Aussie mum on a mic Bron Lewis, beloved storyteller and cheerful comedy champion Kirsty Webeck, and razor-sharp veteran Dave Thornton, whose quick wit has lit up stages from Melbourne to Edinburgh. Party-goers can then dance the night away with feel good tunes until midnight.
CPSV Marketing and Communications Manager Rachel Bitzilis said the compassion and generosity of cat lovers has the power to make a meaningful impact on the lives of more than 1,300 cats and kittens cared for each year.
“All proceeds from the evening will go directly to supporting CPSV’s mission to care for, protect and rehome vulnerable cats and kittens across Victoria. Every laugh, sip and bite will help give a cat a second chance at a happy life,” Rachel said.
“This event is a celebration of everything CPSV has achieved, and a heartfelt thank you to the incredible community that’s supported us every step of the way. Right now, our shelter is home to 1,356 cats, each waiting for their chance at a forever home. Every person attending is helping us give these animals the second chance they deserve.”
Tickets are $90 per person until 9 June, then increase to $100 for last-minute buyers. A ticket includes a cat-themed welcome cocktail, delicious canapés and a stellar line-up of entertainment. All proceeds from ticket sales and the evening will go directly to the work CPSV do.
