Willoughby City Council is proud to unveil DiverseCity, a refreshed and rebranded version of its long-standing quarterly, printed newsletter, Willoughby City News.

Reaffirming Council’s commitment to delivering proactive, transparent, and accessible updates to the community, in addition to new branding and a revised layout, DiverseCity features a colour-code allowing residents to more clearly trace updates from Council back to priorities identified in its adopted Community Strategic Plan.

DiverseCity represents a new chapter in how we communicate with our residents,” said Mayor Tanya Taylor. “We’ve redesigned the format, refined the content, and introduced a more sustainable and cost-effective way to deliver important Council news.”

With a title that plays on the area’s moniker of the “City of Diversity”, the new-look newsletter will continue to be distributed quarterly, arriving in the letterboxes of Willoughby ratepayers, alongside their rates notices. For renters and other community members, copies will be available at Council venues across the local government area.

Key features of DiverseCity include:

  • A streamlined four-page format, reducing paper use and printing costs.
  • A new colour-coded system linking each story to one of five key outcomes in the Council’s Community Strategic Plan, Our Future Willoughby 2036.
  • A continued focus on transparency and accountability in reporting Council programs and deliverables.

“Our goal in re-designing our quarterly publication is to more clearly show how we’re delivering on the community’s priorities and ensuring Willoughby remains green, inclusive, liveable, vibrant, and accountable,” Mayor Taylor said.
