More than just a music festival, Aloha is committed to creating a platform for meaningful community impact, championing shark education and ocean safety, First Nations and Hawaiian culture, environmental sustainability and mental well being. These initiatives take on added significance as the Northern Beaches community continues to navigate the impact of a series of serious shark incidents, reinforcing the importance of education, connection and finding a safer way forward together.
Festival founder and Long Reef local Luke Campbell: “Aloha Festival is a celebration of everything that makes the Northern Beaches, and the Australian coastline, so special. Our community has been rocked in recent times, and we want to create an event where everyone from 5-year-olds to 85-year-olds can come together, connect and share the spirit of Aloha.
“Bringing a vision of this scale to life takes a village, and I’ve been genuinely blown away by the support we’ve received along the way. It still blows my mind that we’ve secured such an incredible lineup of artists and, for the first time, bring the world’s best surf films onto the main stage between live music sets to deliver continuous entertainment throughout the day.
“Aloha is about more than the entertainment. It’s about creating something meaningful for our community - a place where people can come together, celebrate our culture, reconnect with the ocean and support initiatives that will make a positive difference long after the music stops.”
Presenting Partner Jamie Gray, CEO and Founder of Perfect Wave Travel Group on the partnership : “For 20 years, The Perfect Wave has believed surf travel is about more than waves. It’s about culture, community and connection with the ocean, and that’s exactly what the Aloha Festival celebrates. We send surfers to the world’s best breaks; Aloha brings that spirit home to the Northern Beaches, where Australian surfing began.
Saying yes was easy, and there’s no better way to celebrate our 20th anniversary.”
Shark education and ocean safety sit at the heart of Aloha Festival. In partnership with DPIRD, SharkSmart,
Surf Life Saving NSW and Surfing NSW, the festival will raise awareness and educate the community about shark behaviour, ocean safety and the latest technologies helping keep people safer in the water.
Mental health partners Gotcha4Life and Blue Minds will anchor a dedicated health and wellness zone, promoting mental fitness, meaningful connection and community well being. Environmental partners Ocean Lovers Festival, Surfers for Climate and Take 3 for the Sea will lead initiatives focused on dune restoration, reducing microplastic pollution and protecting our coastline. Whilst a partnership with Return and Earn will further extend the festival’s positive impact, with recycling proceeds donated to charity partners.
The festival’s Indigenous cultural program will feature the Bush to Beach initiative, providing First Nations young people with the opportunity to attend their first ever festival and the chance to meet their heroes Yothu Yindi.
Aloha will celebrate the deep influence of Hawaiian culture on Australian surfing through the Duke Kahanamoku Hawaiian Celebration, honouring the legendary Hawaiian waterman who helped introduce surfing to Australia at nearby Freshwater Beach in 1914, before sharing his surfing skills at Dee Why Beach the following day. The celebration will recognise the enduring cultural connection between Hawaiʻi and Australia, celebrating the traditions, people and ocean-loving spirit that continue to shape surf culture today.
Beyond the live music and surf films, festivalgoers can immerse themselves in an Indigenous cultural celebration, explore the NSW Government Shark Smart Activation, Ocean Lovers Hub, or unwind in the Health and Wellness Zone with yoga, massage and ice baths. There’s also plenty to discover across the festival site, from athlete signings, live tattooing, to a vibrant Market Village, boutique food and wine VIP experience, Kids Funland complete with a Ferris wheel and even the chance to win a $50,000 at the Golf Daze hole-in-one golf simulator.
With something for everyone, ALOHA promises a festival experience that celebrates the people, culture and coastal lifestyle that make the Northern Beaches so special. Come for the Entertainment. Stay for the Connection.
