Invisible? I don't think so! A bold, hilarious and heartfelt celebration of women, life and laughter debuts at Byron Theatre - October 2 and 3, 2026
WOMEN OVER 40 – The Cabaret presents its Northern Rivers premiere at Byron Theatre this October, bringing together five extraordinary women for an evening of sharp comedy, powerful storytelling and unforgettable music. Early Bird tickets for Women Over 40 – The Cabaret are on sale throughout July. General on sale follows in August.
Written by award-winning NZ playwright Lindsey Brown and directed by Olga Tamara, this contemporary cabaret explores the trials, triumphs and beautifully chaotic realities of being a woman ‘of a certain age’. Through comic monologues, soulful songs and brutally honest observations, the show celebrates resilience, friendship, humour and the freedom that comes with living life unapologetically. No matter what life throws at them, which is a lot, they remain FABULOUS!
Featuring acclaimed performers Cass Eager, Cathy Levins, Joy Miller, Olga Tamara and Emily Turner, accompanied by Anna Honeychurch, Women Over 40 blends theatrical flair with warmth, wit and emotional truth.
“WOMEN OVER 40 -The Cabaret is an evening of celebration and connection. It doesn't hide the hardships of being middle-aged but instead reminds us that we are stronger than we think. Our life experiences give us wisdom, power and friendship...as well as the ability to laugh at ourselves - particularly, if it's to a catchy tune!”
